SKS piston

Got a couple sks' and putting them back together, I notice one piston isn't going all the way down in the gas tube. I notice some "rust" or something causing that piston on the left to stop where it is. Is there a worry that the one on the left won't cycle properly? Should I worry?

Run a wire bore brush in and out a few times then put some oil on a patch doing the same. Put a little oil on the piston rod and see if that fixes it. The SKS is built tough, so it shouldn't be a problem, but I would want to see if it will fully drop through the tube like its supposed to.
