I did an inventory of my magazines and priced them accordingly with present market value. I have concluded that if I sold them right now, I would have a better rate of return on them than any of my investment choices within the last 20 years. Beats any of my stocks, cd's, bonds or mutual funds in rate of returns, future market value or interest.

It's amazing how polymer beats gold and silver. ....I'm keeping all mine for a very rainy day or year.

I understand. I was trying to keep it short: the fact is, Magpul has not raised the price, so somewhere along the line, someone is jacking the prices up. Yeah, the retailer gets to hear about it and be complained to/about. If you understand what is going on out there, you aren't going to blame them. I'm not blaming them for the price they are charging unless they are buying direct from Magpul and simply raising prices like the distributors (whom I meant by vendor; not the end retailers such as these smaller stores/shops). The majority of the people out there who are either uneducated about both of those things, or just don't care, will complain to the people selling the magazines to them. That's the way it goes in the sales/customer service industry.

LOL...the folks who are "waiting for things to settle back to normal" are really out of touch. Do you NOT pay attention to what is happening in the white house? You do know that as soon as a official bill is presented that the real panic buying will begin. Even if no anti-gun bill(s) are passed...just the introduction of the bill(s) will drive supply and prices through the roof.

I remember quite well the $100.00 SELLING prices of Colt 30rd mags leading up to and after the '94 fed ban. Beta C mags selling for $600-700. Glock mags selling for $75-125.

And this was all pre-internet days. The big "go-to" source for gun parts, guns, etc. was a publication called ShotGun News.

I predict that within a month the $50.00 Pmag prices will be a "wish I could get for mid Jan. prices". Hope I am wrong...I truly do. But I believe it is really going to get crazy soon.

        Take care,Stan

We dont live in some communist country with all prices watched and adjusted by the government to be the same across the board. Free market, people.

And there is a bill going through Sacramento right now that will ban future sales of mags that could hold more than 10 rounds and doesn't matter if they are permanently blocked. If that passes, effective January 1, 2014 all you will be able to purchase or posses in CA are straight up 10 round mags. No more blocked mags unless possessed before the effective date. Many sporting rifle owners are making sure they have the 20 or 30 sized permanently blocked mags for nothing more than aesthetic purposes. If you don't get them now you may never get them.

I bought before the 99 ban. Spent 10% of my income that year. Have mags for guns i no longer have or want to aquire some time in the future. Buy while you can and stay in your budget. As they say " one mans poison" ect.

Finally, someone besides me is saying it. This is not a short term problem, prices will likely stay high for quite awhile everywhere and probably permanently in Comiefornia.

Any discussion of gun legislation really F's up the market. Manufacturers become unsure in they should keep producing parts that may be banned. Distributors become unsure if they should stock items that might be banned, same for retail stores. Meanwhile everyone is trying to buy stuff before a potential ban goes into place.

I don't think a federal ban will pass congress, but with Obastard threatening executive orders and ATF rule changes, and twisting the arms of big companies to be on his side, uncertainty is injected into the market even if nothing happens.

Uncertainty in the market will be a problem for as long as Obastard is in office. Because NO ONE TRUSTS HIM.

So you can wait for prices to come down, but it'll be awhile if ever. You should have seen this coming for at least a year. It was obvious to me.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

If you truly saw this coming a year ago, you should be a rich, rich man. Not many ways to triple your money in one year via investing.
