Can I purchase a stripped lower directly from JD Machine if drive down there or does it have to be transferred to an FFL? I know they are back ordered right now, but I wouldn't mind driving down there and placing a deposit on one if it's feasible. And I know it will entail 3 trips but the GF keeps complaining that we never do anything so one those trips could be a date night and kill two birds with one stone.

Not so sure now, but I believe you can. I called last april 2012, inquiring about the same thing, whoever I spoke to was pretty cool. He mentioned that they'll give you a tour of there facility and might also hook it up on some color filling. He was also willing to work out the purchase, he told me that I wouldnt have to take a second trip down, and I would be able to pick up the lower from a gun show that they were attending and by my house. Loike I mentioned, dont know if they allow you to that now, you probably want to try to call them. San Diego would be a nice little trip though, I wouldnt mind taking the wife at all.Comment

They don't really have a store front. Just like an office type setting. I bought a few lowers from them a few years back. I wasn't impressed to say the least with everything about them. The weren't very professional, made me stand around a while, and my 10 day wait turned in to 30 because of "ATF difficulties."
But they did turn out some nice lowers. All worked fine and their shop is pretty impressive. And they are happy to let you walk around the shop and check stuff out.Last edited by XDRoX; 01-02-2013, 9:07 PM.Chris
