I'm wanting to replace my flash hider with a brake, I'm not so much concerned about hiding a flash from anyone as much as I am about having a little better control of my AR. Not that I'm saying it's out of this world but any bit would help. Also the price or noise factor doesn't matter. I've done plenty of searches but all that comes up is older and I was wondering if there's anything newer or if it's still pretty much all the same. My top choices being SJC Titan, Benny Hill Rolling Thunder, or the Surefire M556. there are others like the JP Beenie Cooley and the FSC30 & FSC556 etc etc. My question is which do you perefer and or recommend and why? Also if you know where i can get a better deal? Oh and one more thing didn't find to much on which one fits what saw some that said .223 and .308. Would the .223 fit a .556 or is it specific. I have a Daniels Defense V5 mid length gas system. Thanks for any input and advice. And Happy New Year to all !!!!!!!

I have a Surefire, AAC and OPS inc. . The Surefire seems to be the most controllable. JUst from my humble experience. My OPS inc. is shot always from the prone position. The rifle is accurate, followup shots are not normal. The others shooting offhand, seems the SF is a bit more accurate. justmyexperience. -
PWS 556FSC is extremely effective.Comment

PWS TTO is also extremely effective and can run featured or featureless...Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...Comment

Surefire MB556K gets my vote. If you dont mind people asking "what the heck are you shooting" because it's so loud. It controls the muzzle rise very well. I have it pinned to a Daniel Defense 14.5" barrel in a DD upper. I love itLast edited by vr6veedub; 12-31-2012, 10:13 PM.Comment

Search for Ross Schuler muzzle brakes . They are only $50 mailed to you, and the guy who makes them is a great guy. And the brake keeps your sights in the black for follow up shots. My next Meet and Greet, Rally, range trip, or Clean Up in San Diego:

Most of the AR15s use 1/2"x28 thread, while the AR10 uses 5/8"x24 thread. My 6.8SPC uses 5/8"x24 as well.Verify your thread pitch before ordering to save shipping back and forth.I noticed a fello mentioned he uses Vais. They make a good brake, but several of theirs use 32 thread per inch.Just watch what you order.I have a Miculak that seems to work pretty well on a AR 15.My bolt actions are all custom made by a smith in Rialto,he charges $120 but that includes threading the barrel. He will not work on ARs,unless you pull the barrel off.For $50 I might have to find that Ross Schuler and try his.Comment
