WASR 10 Double Stack Feed issues help!

Hey guys so I got this gun for free from a buddy of mine all it needed was a new extractor and firing pin. Put the new parts in and shot it maybe 30 times the guns shoots and cycles well some of the time however it tends to fail to feed quite often. The next round is missed and the bolt pushes the round up by the casing denting the casing and sending the round all the way above the chamber and jaming. Does this more often with my newly purchased steel original mags. my 30 rd steel mags fail to feed at all 75% of the time. the 10rd steel mag feeds about 4 then jams as previously stated. I have 2 tapco mags that seem to cycle much better failing to feed less than the steel but they are 30rds and cant take them to the local range to use. The gun was meticulously cleaned prior to shooting. Everything functions great otherwise and is smooth and clean does anyone have any ideas what to do or try??

Mags probably not sitting high enough for the bolt to reliably strip them from the mags. Are the mags tight when seated or do the have vertical play when seated?

they are tight and are as high as they can go. very little vertical play however it has the same problem even if you hold the magazine up

The selector stop has a groove cut into it which can adjust the height of the magazine as a deeper cut allows the mag to sit higher.... However when done at the factory the mag catch it's self is cut a bit longer to keep the mag tight.....

Can you take the top cover off and take a few pics of a loaded mag inserted and the bolt and carrier held behind the mag to see how the bolt bottom lines up with the rounds in the mag?

Remove the action spring too.
