First Build Questions

So I'm finally getting around to my first AR build (terrible time to start) and wanted to know if I'm missing any parts.

Here's the list of stuff on MidwayUSA (not necessarily buying the stuff from them, but just using them for the listing):

• DPMS Lower Parts Kit AR-15 - May be substituted for something else

If you look around a little more, you can find "post-ban" uppers already with a brake, so you don't have to do the work yourself. IIRC, they're marketed to states like NJ and MA.

Is it possible to use an A2-style fixed stock (rifle length stock, buffer tube, rifle buffer, rifle length spring) with carbine upper?

I'd use MM grip instead...
