Cut my A2 sight and installed my new rail.

I converted my A2 sight into a low profile gas block and installed a Midwest Industries rail. The gas block came out a little rough cause I don't have a dremel, but nobody is going to see it. I also mounted a Vortex Viper 1-4x24 scope. Now to zero the irons and scope.

Before lo-profiles were cheap to be had... everyone was doing this ) It's a PIA doing it free hand without a cutting blade and grinder. Good job!

Have you seen the Parallax Tactical version of the rail? It's seriously next-level.

Been seriously considering chopping my FSB as well. Can you give me the break down on how to chop it off? Any tips or potential problems I need to be aware of?

Dremel or a grinding wheel works just fine. It's really obvious on what you can cut/grind off before you ruin it.

thanks everybody, I did this cause I was afraid if I used a regular gas block, it would come lose since my barrel is not dimpled for one.

Its really simple, I removed the sight and put it in a vice, then I cut it, replaced the cutting wheel with a grinding one and started gringding little by little. I could have grinded some more off, but the rail fit over it without touching, so I stopped, cleaned it and blued it a couple if times. Wish I had a dremel to clean it up some, but since nobody is going to see it, I didn't want to go buy one. If you are ever in the La Mirada area, bring your AR and I will help you cut that sucker.
