    Change your mindset.

First, you DON'T need a reason.

Second, we don't even have a law yet and you are already thinking of turning stuff in.

Ammo is an investment vehicle as are mags, parts, barrels, BCGs. In fact, PMAGS bought just a month ago are now worth 3X what they cost. Pretty good investment.
Starve the beast, move to a free state.

Bwiese: "You are making the assumption the law is reasonable/has rationale."

i would not buy a AK or AR right now. why buy something you might not get to keep. nobody knows what is going to happen. the folks in charge do not like the 2nd.
i have a savage bolt action in 223 and a mini 14 in 223. i feel safe nobody will take my savage away. now if the republicans in the house cave all bets are off.

Wait.... Americans are allowed to own these kind of rifles? Wish I would have known before. Oh well I guess I have none to turn in if they ever passed the AWB.

Your call... you MAY want to buy a future AW, because you MAY never be able to again.

I will voluntarily turn in (lower receivers only).

That said, I'm looking for a defensible reason for hoarding .223/5.56 and 7.62.

Remington makes a pump action that fires .223/5.56 I'm pretty sure. So something like this off the factory assembly lines (no featureless mods required).
No point in trying to "what if" an AWB because we have no idea if there even will be one or not or what would be included if there was one. We do know what the Libtards like Feinstein want to ban but it doesn't mean it will pass - it could die in a committee or have all of the rediculous restrictions struck from her bill before it even comes up for a vote.

The surrendering mindset among some in the gun owning community is pretty appalling.

Agreed. It's astonishing how quickly people throw their rights out the window.

The Fifth Amendment states that the govt can't take anything without fair compensation. The feds don't have enough money to pay their own bills...never gonna happen.
Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...
