SW M&P15 Sport Vs Delton Sport AR15

    Hi Guys,

Which one is better? I already have a Colt M4 and want to get a Delton Sport or SW MP15 Sport for a shooter/beater AR.

BTW, Turners is taking deposit for Delton Sport. I know the M&P Sport is not available now, but can wait if its better than Delton.

    thanks

Haven't heard much about the Delton, but you'll hear nothing but rave reviews about the S&W. It doesn't cost much more than the Delton either so I'd go with the S&W.

Which Colt you got? 6920? 6940? Socom II?

You would have to search all over to find a single negative review on the S&W MP15-Sport. I still have not been able to after months of searching! The only negatives are people who don't own one telling people that the forward assist and dust cover are 100% necessary (Very false). I have 0 complaints about mine, it eats everything and kills paper the same as a $1500 AR. Nothing but reliable and lightweight. No experience with the Delton though..Good luck with the decision!

I have the Del-Sport and yesterday I went out to shot it and from the first try I got a double fed. But I think it's from those 10/30 mags. I later stopped putting 10 rounds in a mag and went with 8 rounds and the gun worked. I also did not try shooting it with its original 10rdags which I will do today when I get to the range. If you go to YouTube and search for Del-Ton review everyone seams to like it. I got my DT at Turners for $686 out the door. I hope you grab one before the all run out agian.

I don't know much about DelTon, so to be on the safer side, I'll go with S&W, which I know has warranty.

The Del-Ton Sport is a tremendous value. I have put at least 800 rounds through mine with ZERO hiccups. The rifle just now is starting to feel broke in. The gas key was properly staked and the finish is excellent. Mine is set up featureless. Just last weekend I was banging plates with it in the desert and it got gritty and dirty as hell. Malfunctions? None.

When evaluating these two based on price. You need to know that the S&W comes with an MBUS that is not present on the Del-Ton. So if you plan on shooting using iron sights, you will need to spend another ~$50 if you purchase the Del-Ton.

I had the choice of the Del-Ton for $599 or the S&W for $649. I chose the S&W.
What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?

Well there are 2 types of Del-Ton Sports one Optics Ready with a low profile gas block and the other with the front iron sight but no back sights and they're the same price. The difference is just the front sights. But I've only seen the Optics ready at Turners.

Love my S&W. After doing all the research I could about complete ARs, this fit my budget and "needs."

I have the DT Sport and have had zero issues with it. Not that you will need it, but it does come with a lifetime warranty. Buy it, you won't regret it!
