    Sierra Arms Modesto

Been hesitant about using them in the past due to lousy customer service but yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back.

LAR stripped lowers for $375 and a Nodak AK-47 on the wall for $2200.

Had my AK in there for two weeks trying to get it fixed when their gunsmith was the one that screwed up the job in the first place and they couldn't even tell me when he was gonna get a chance to look at it.

I could understand if he had never worked on my gun but come on. He's the one that screwed it up. Fixing it should have been a priority. I finally just went in and told them I'd take it elsewhere.

Spend your money on a LGS that cares about it's customers.

I will say there are a couple of guys behind the counter that are great guys, Sean being one of them, but management/owners are a joke.

Stopped in once just to check it out. Not impressed. No clue how the customer service was as I might as well had been invisible.

Same problem here. You have to flash cash and a lot of it to get help. Also if you're on a budget (like I'm sure all of us are) and ask about or bring n something they don't stock, they like to immediately instruct you to purchase an LWRC. I've been going to elite arms in Manteca for a little bit (haven't bought anything) but pretty decent selection of product and a more than helpful staff.

I walked out after 15min of waiting for some one to aknowledge me. Three sales people and four customers, atleast say "be with you in a second or something". My money was spent else where.

I went in there a few months ago to pick up reloading components and they were good to me .That does suck about your rifle not being fixed .Well as for the prices they are taking advantage of the market like any other shop.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

It's a cop shop, they didn't give the time of day. I spent my filthy unworthy money of the unwashed elsewhere. I'd recommend the same for anyone else.

+1 for Elite, I have only bought blocked mags and accessories from them but prices seem fair and service is top notch.

I used to use Sierra a lot, but when the previous manager left, so did I. I would suggest Barnwood. Things have changed in the last year or so there, better prices and more stuff. Just recently went to Elite for the first time, bought some accessories there. Looks like good prices and staff. Tracy Rifle & Pistol is pretty good too. Mike is a cool guy, but it's a bit of a drive, especially when you drive it twice for a purchase.

Sierra got a bad name a while back when a gunner picked up an overpriced lpk that had the mag release removed. Long story short they would not give it to him so he returned the entire lpk. Elite has good prices on some stuff but they are "elite", they push piston upper like they're designed by god and I've found they're at least $100 high on lower priced handguns such as their GI RIA for $599. Tracy has a cool selection (prob not right now) but they have at least a couple morons working there such as the one that started the 10 day wait for a guy that bought online but his gun was #1 not there and #2 had not even shipped from the seller yet. o_O

On the eighth day, God created Piston, and it was GOOD

Btw, that was the .38 Super.... our GI RIA is $489, and our Tactical is $519... But no worries, happy New Year!

                          And thanks for stopping by!

Elite is one of my favorites in the area. Alquist is good as well. Lat time I was shopping for a glock (30sf) at Sierra I was quoted for $679 , but he Told me he could do it for me for $599. I kindly suggested I would wait and never went back. They were selling stripped lowers before the craziness for 175-200 anyways.

Alquist has always been my go to shop and I've always gotten good customer service from them. They did piss me off on Friday though. Been waiting for some Spike's lower to come in for a while now(since before the panic) asked him on Friday if they had come in yet and he said he is expecting them shortly but he's probably not going to sell them at the shop but going to put them on Gunbroker because of how much he can get for them.

While I recognize that it's their right to do business however they see fit, it seems to me that they should take care of their customers first. Especially when lowers are so hard to find right now.
