    Beowulf Problem

I fired two repetive shots today. Only found one empty casing. I didn't realize it until later, but the other spent case was still in the chamber. It was easy to eject via pulling the charhing handle. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary while firing? Any ideas?

check the rim of the "stuck" case, see if a little chunk is missing.
if not then look at your bolt and see if the ejector/extractor has a problem.

and how dirty is the gun?

    any burs around the chamber?

Did the bullet actually hit the target? It may have been a squib, if so, you have a bullet to extract from the barrel!

Theres no material missing from the case and the extractor looks fine. The bullet is also not stuck in the barrel. Is there anything else that could have been wrong? BTW. There only about 10 rounds through the upper right now. Its pretty new.

If it was easy to pull with the charging handle and was not a squib, it may have been low enough on powder not to extract. Next time you go, just put in one round and see if it extracts, then three rounds, then full mag.

No, I don't, I am on the coast side. Did you shoot long range, as well?

Maybe just short stroked because the upper isn't broken in yet. Add more lube and try again. It wouldn't hurt to clean and then lube.

Is shortstroking caused by worn O-rings and improperly staked gas keys? Hope its just underpowered ammo

C.G No, I live in SoCal. No long distance shooting yet. Not many places to shoot over 200 yds. Are there any piggies where you are?

Like was suggested before, try one in the mag at a time and lube up the whold bolt and carrier more than you would a gun that's already broken in.

                      Good luck!

Here's my 'little' baby. Just tonight I put the extra 1' pad on the butt stock. I also filled the cavity in the A2 stock with birdshot to help absorb a little of the kick.

She's been a little finicky and still jams a once in a while, but I've only put about 40-50 rounds through her and she's starting to smooth out now.

I'm planning on taking her out to Angeles this Sunday to fine tune the zero on the scope and to see how that extra rubber on the buttplate works!!
If you know how many guns you have... you don't have enough guns.

People need to remember that the same guys who wrote the 1st Amendment, also wrote the 2nd Amendment... and for the same exact reasons.

PM Notime2shoot. He had similar issues with his Beowulf. It was completely unreliable until he and Xenophobe fixed it. Can't quite remember what he did though.
