i have a small 10 round magazine but it isn't very good, got it from cdnn a year ago for about $10, is european according to the label (im assuming com bloc). the follower always sticks and i get a failure to feed about 1/50 rounds b/c the round just doesn't come up. usually i can fix this by cycling the rifle (shakes things up) but occasionally i need to take the magazine out, stick my fingers in to wiggle it a bit, and then it will rise again.

5 or 10 round Chinese "no rib" are the best low cap mags out there probably.
They have Yugo style followers and if you dremel off the tabs on the inside of the body they will be bolt hold open.
You can shorten the follower in the 5 round magazine and make it a 10...

        Kind of hard to find...

Or look for factory Saiga mags. Aren't metal but still pretty nice.

Op, I asked a similar question a while ago and those more well versed in the AK platform than myself pointed me to the ones sold by solar tactical. I have some enroute to me now, and I believe they have a few left in stock. Not sure who makes them yet.

My tapco ten rounders run flawless and they are ten dollars at several sites.

Thanks guys. Looks like the Arsenal 10's are my best bet. I have a few Saiga mags but they wobble a little in my converted saiga because I had to shave down the mag catch just a tad. They run fine but are pricey.

There are also these blank mags with a block and shortened follower:

I have some of them, but had not considered removing the block and using a normal follower to make 10 rounders. Will take a look at them this week and see if conversion looks feasible.

I have some of the Tapco 10s and they work fine although sometimes are a bit snug.

build up the tab a bit with some epoxy. Tape off the edges to make a "box", fill with a little epoxy and sand/file to fit.

Really? Does the epoxy hold up? I have tons of JB weld, is that what you use?

I used plain old 60 minute epoxy.

US arsenal 10 rnd from midway. Also count toward 922r. I like them much better than the tapco.
