I know this is definitely not the best time to try and finish an AR, but it's something I planned to buy after Christmas and with the panic buying going on I don't think I have a choice to wait much longer before prices are really high or everything is out of stock.
I already have the lower built and am looking for an upper. This won't be a safe queen and will most definitely get beat on. I don't want to get a 14.5 inch and deal with a muzzle break so I'm going to settle with a 16 inch. This will be my first completed AR (I have the luxury of shooting a RAW AR pretty much whenever I want so my own builds always took a back seat) so I'd appreciate some input. Obviously I'm limited to what is out there but I don't need an 800 dollar upper. In fact I'm hoping to keep the total cost minus optic under that.
I have had my eye set on this upper from PSA:
Granted, I understand the wait time will probably be significant but my goal now is simply locking in an upper, if such a thing exists right now.
I also planned to put this rail on the upper: http://www.knightarmco.com/shop/inde...2k5hdm3nq629m5 or at least one similar to it. Will that rail match the PSA upper? PSA only has one other upper in stock and I believe the only difference is the full length handguard. Just a little confused on that aspect.
Digging around PSA, I just found this handguard in stock: http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...handguard.html It has a similar look to the KAC and would be fine by me. Any reason it wouldn't match with the PSA upper?
Also, does anyone know if the specs for the PSA upper match similar specs to a standard issue M4? Like I said, it's going to be my first upper purchase so there are some things that are unclear.
