Did 1994 AWB apply to parts or just firearms?

And at the end of the Ban, no one could show a single stat that it prevented or reduced crime
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

      Plugged all the holes.
She did the same thing back in July after the CO shooting and got nowhere.

No, you wake up. It is 12:32AM on December 18, 2012. Nothing has happened yet. Until something DOES, this is moot. There is no sense on worrying about something that you don't know about yet. New legislation could bring all sorts of unforeseen rules and regulations.

A panic about an AWB that hasn't been proposed is strictly based on fear and uncertainty.

Thanks for the info hermosa. That sheds some light on what it was like in the past.

You could still buy post ban guns.

              Parts were still available

Mags were limited to 10 rounds max and prices went way up as the supply was fixed.

CA then further restricted things in 1999 so that you could no longer buy the used mags over 10 rounds.

Importation of a lot of items was also limited.
Thanks for the info. That is what I was looking for. Didn't mean for this to turn into a debate about a new ban. Just wanted to know what the old one pertained to. Looks like there shouldn't be a need to rush building up the lowers I have.

This panic is quite amazing. Back in 1994 when the AWB happened, I was only 8 years old, so it had no meaning to me at the time because I was too busy digging for boogers in my nose.

Today, I see how crazy it is with people posting up things like how many guns can I buy...I've maxed out all my credit cards buying guns...etc. I mean...WOW. Like some people have said, nothing has been officially purposed except for the comments that Feinstein made on TV. Is it going to happen? It looks like something IS going to happen, but I wonder how fast its going to?

The last 7 times something was purposed, the proposal died in the committee and never even got out for a vote. I think SOMETHING will happen because anyone who is against an AWB now will be viewed as some kind of monster.

She really annoys me because this is a huge concern, however, she's done nothing else for our state that I hear of. Why is it that we never hear the senator of so and so state has done a great job for us and listening to what the people want? Her and Barbara Boxer are worthless. Our state has gone through the crapper because of their so called leadership with all the bad governors we've had in the past decade.

There's so much more to this AWB

While I don't think people need to max out their credit cards and empty their bank accounts to buy all the guns they can while they can, I do think its smart to consider all the possibilities before they become reality.

No, nothing has been put to congress yet, and a lot of things don't make it to a vote but that's because the people oppose it! If you're going to sit around and wait for them to make a move, your behind the power curve. If a senator announces they want to initiate a AWB, get your *** in gear and contact every elected official you can and voice your opposition. It doesn't have to be a proposed bill for you to let your elected officials know its wrong.

I could see "military" ammo going away, namely 5.45x39mm, 5.56x45mm, 7.62x39mm, 7.62x54mm and 5.7x28mm. AP is already illegal but pretty much anything pointy in shape will defeat IIIa armor and why do you need something to defeat armor? And the majority of crimes will still be committed by 9mm.

Almost EVERY rifle round can defeat 3A armor....3A is only good for pistol and shotgun rounds

I paid up to $135 for a standard capacity glock mag after AWB1

Glock would not sell any replacement parts- ie no rebuild parts

The good news of that they make a very durable mag.

As the feedlips cracked on AR mags, they went into the junk pile

I seem to recall used AR mags were $40& up if you could find them

I remember 2 of the glock mags i got were $80ea, I also paid between $30 and $60ea for AR and AK mags.

I had a choice between a SP89 or mags. Glad i choose mags, sure a SP89 is cool and worth some cash but prebans are priceless.

California accidentally also banned Knight Armament's RAS handguard too. What a joke.

Don't be naive enough to expect this ban will be the same as the old ban. They wanted to get rid of all military pattern semi-autos. They were PISSED when they found out Colt and others were selling the same old guns with bayo lug and flash hider missing. They were stupid when they wrote the first law because they didn't know anything about guns. They won't make the same mistake again. Feinstein said as much.

Of course there are no bills now. Congress is in recess! Feinstein told everyone her plan to introduce her bill on day one. Are people really stupid enough not to believe that until it happens?
