Larue Ordering Question

Has anyone ordered a Larue recently? I'm looking for a OBR in 556 and went through the online ordering page on Larue's website. I kept waiting to see if it would state on back order or something.

So are they in stock or do they just take your CC info and call when they become available?

TomV is correct. Larue will not sell to an individual in CA. You must purchase it from a Larue vendor in CA. The only one that I know of is Riflegear in So Cal. There is probably one up there in Sac.

One thing to note, when ordering through a CA dealer, it generally means no swag (Dillo Dust, Caps, etc) is given. Same with the magazines, they do not give them to you as a rebuilt kit.

I heard from local gun shop, that Larue doesn't want or won't have anything to do with making the guns California compliant. They refuse my local gun shops business, just because he is located in California. At least that is what owner told me, when I asked if carried Larue rifles.

I would like to know if it is true.

I got my LT OBR 5.56 in early 2012 at a CA dealer that stocked it and have a PredatOBR 7.62 on order, from around early 2012 also.

I just bought a larue costa from a CA dealer. They just won't sell direct. Problem is... Larue seems to be on crazy back order so be prepared to wait. Also seems to be a national BAckorder on BCGs holding up all brands builds..

LaRue will sell to California dealers, but be prepared to wait. The backlog is horrendous and you can wait up to 12 months for your rifle to be built.

That's odd because on their website you actually have to select different state specific configurations. One option is for California.

And then towards the bottom, it talks about how they configure the rifles for states like California and New Jersey.

I'm going to give them a call on Monday.

I ordered an OBR 762 from a California dealer in April and recieved it at 9 weeks. WTF, where did the 16-20 week go? Order came with the wrong color furniture, and 20 rounders. Test target was in the mid .900's, so mine was a cancelled LEO? Dealer claimed it only came with 1 10 rounder Magpul. Larue made it right the mag dispite the dealer shenagons.

So all dealers are not craeted equal. Also saw one dealer wanted 100% down at ordering. Mine shoots .500-.600 during first outing. Best rifle I have owned.

When you select the drop down menu for CA rifle it says dealers only.

they will sell you any rifle you want but it has to go through a ffl dealer.

Not true! I picked mine up from Riflegear about a month ago. Compliant with bullet button. Predatar 7.62.

I picked up a LaRue lower from the gun case with BB in Tracy., been waiting on my upper from LaRue since mid Sept.

Maybe two more weeks....

Thanks guys you set me straight.

The long build time was another reason I decided to order a GAP-10. With the upgrades I chose, it was still less than the Larue. They also gave me great deal on a Vortex Razor HD EBR-2B. Not my first GA Precision rifle.
