Greetings calguns,

Is there any way to attain a PKM here in Kalifornia? Been interested in one for a while now but I couldn't find any definitive information online. If anyone has some insight, please share.

yes, wiselite had sold them in the past, can only use a 10 round belt/no grip--cost is about $5000+

You can legally use any size belt you legally own if it's configured in a featureless way.

I checked out wise lite, seems like they currently don't have PKMs. As far as the grip goes, however, does it use the same grip as an AK? If so, I'm assuming a monsterman grip would work

The PKM basically uses the same grip as a standard AK so a grip wrap should work no problem. Lately the prices on the semi auto PKM's have been all over the place ranging anywhere from $5500 all the way up to $12k depending on if it comes with extras such as spare barrels, transit case, tripod etc. The one's I've seen lately for sale are brand new in the transit case with all the accessories. If your shopping for one plan on at least $7500 minimum to get one and at those prices they are selling rather quickly so you will have to jump on one at that price.

Other then that they are the best and most reliable semi auto beltfed out there next to the Browning 1919, plus they shoot the cheap affordable combloc 54r ammo and you can even use your old maxim or SG43 belts with it. Its an awesome gun and you will be really happy with it.
