So what would you recommend as a finish when one does the triggerguard and FCG conversion.

How would you finish the bottom of the receiver and the triggerguard plate?

great pics guys. i was just about to give up on the thread too... i just finished adjusting my saiga conversion. a little bit mall ninja but it's so much easier for me to use right now.

victorr i really like that furniture. do you have any other pictures of it (or closer up)? also which one of their "colors" was it? im liking the "rust" but they don't show it mounted on anything for reference.

i was thinking of doing something like that with a 5.45 except with an ultimak gas tube on top, not sure if the bands holding the tube on would work with most wood hand guards though, i always see ultimaks on polymer handguards similar to the arsenal or kvar ones. not sure if its just the type of people/setups using ultimaks or b/c there is some technical limitation.

During the panic buying frenzy last week I spontaneously put on lay away a converted saiga 223, over paid a little bit, but looking at the current prices since then I got a great deal! Anyways can't wait to get her, this thread has erased any buyers remorse! Thanks to all, more pics anyone?

Tapco Intrafuse Hand Guard, UTG Side Mount, Bushnell TRS-25.

Upgrades in the mail are bullet guide for AK mags, Dinzag Trigger(to retain sporter stock), and Tapco Piston. 922r plus the ability to use AK mags without a mag lock is priceless. I managed to order 5 Tapco rebuild kits for 6.99 before the madness went down.
