Planning on picking one of these two up in the next month or so, any input on them? I do like the M10 because it has a lot of the modernizations and customizations, especially the synthetic tacticool look and brand new parts, including the Tapco trigger group. On the other hand it is about $100-$150 more than a regular old WASR. Although a regular WASR would work, I kinda like knowing that I have brand new components, better trigger, modifications already done, etc. What do you guys think, worth it or no?

WASR VS M10 762
Tags: None -
Its only $100-$150 more than a regular "single stack" OLD WASR. It is only $50 more than a "double stack" WASR modded by Century to take double stacked mags.
The M10-762 is all new and built from the get go to take double stacked mags. If you don't like the furniture, switch them out with what you want and sell the parts to someone else who likes it on his WASR.
Buy it for what the base gun is, not for what furniture it has. -
Pretty sure WASR's have had Tapco G2 triggers for years now, since like 2007... You should probably do some more research as you seem to have some of your facts confused.
I have a WASR from 2006 that has the C marked Century trigger group and it has been fine, never experienced any trigger slap..
In all respects my WASR has been perfect. I would rather have "old" parts then these new bastardized things.. but that is me
Furniture wood or synthetic is cheap enough to swap out, for example:

But honestly get whatever u like more. If you like the gas block sights of the M10 then get it.Last edited by Chaos47; 11-07-2012, 8:32 PM.Comment

Everything that I have read points to the WASR not having a G2 trigger group? I had heard nothing to suggest that it was done either....mostly just posts on how to replace to stock group with the TapcoComment

WASR's are thinning out, it will be gone soon as Romania is running low on surplus AK (variant), Romania now only have the M10 which are new production guns. By the way WASR's from Century are built with Tapco G2 Trigger group.Comment

I just picked up my m10. Haven't shot it yet but everything seems to be good except for the finish, it scratches kind of easy. No canted sights, rails are on nice and solid, butt stock feels solid and sturdy though there are people that complaint about the stock but I guess its just preference. This is my first ak so I have nothing to compare it too, but its an ak it should run like a tank like any other.Comment

Not worth it imo. Quad rail is heavy and not og the best quality. Irons are inferior (shorter radius). Better to get a wasr and go with a mi rail or similar, if you must have a railThe California Moderate Centrist Militia member in exile

Beginning in 2007, Century International Arms has installed the TAPCO Intrafuse AK G2 trigger group, virtually eliminating the trigger slap problem. Rifles with this trigger group will have "TAPCO USA G2" stamped on the left side of the trigger. Some of these rifles may exhibit canted front sight blocks and gas tubes.[2]Comment

they are both imported by Century armsComment

I have an M10, shoots great, accurate right out of the box, was hitting steel at about 200 yards with the irons...it does get pretty hot though, added a vertical grip1928 Tula Mosin Nagant

While all of this is true I'd still want one in 5.45 because I'd like to chop the barrel and pin a Krinkov FH to it. I'm just not sure if that will over gas the rifle if not I might pin some other MD to it.Comment

I say get a M10. The M10's I've seen are coming out with 2012 date stamps and from an assembly standpoint the quality seems to be better than the WASRs I've seen.
Mine was shooting 2-3" groups at 50 yds and 3-4" at 100 yds. The shorter site radius didnt seem to affect accuracy and I am already expecting this type of accuracy with an AK and steel Russian ammo.
I like the front rail as I like to use a red dot sometimes. Options...that's what I like.Comment
