Im looking for a new scope for my Savage 110. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Primarily for target shootin, and pig huntn.

    Might have better luck here.

Depends on your price range to be honest and the distances you plan on shooting.

Savages are, in general, profoundly accurate rifles (with right ammo, quality scope/rings, good shooter) despite their value pricing.

It would be a shame to put a cheap scope (Tasco, BSA, Simmons, NcStar, Leapers or other Red Chinese crap) on such a nice rifle.

For the price, you can't go wrong with a Burris 3-9X40 Fullfield-II scope, or one of the Nikon Buckmasters or perhaps a Leupold VXI. These scopes IIRC are $200ish (certainly the Burris and some of the Nikons). Get a decent Leuplold mount/rings and you're good to go.

Check out the Muellers if you are trying to stay in the affordable range. I decided to give one a try for my 17 hm2, and granted, its a rimfire, I have been real happy with the performance of the scope. I took it out last weekend to zero it in and the optics are decent. Mizzoumuleguns is a great source as well. The guy ships fast and is the cheapest around.

The NCStar I had on my AR worked great,.......until the reticle started rotating.

I currently have an NC Star scope on my AR as well, I havent gotten it zeroed completely as I was freezing to death at the Castro Valley Gun Range. Ive heard some issues with the NC Star products losing their zeros.

If you're using it for plinking and hunting you'll need to spend at least $200.

Burris, Nikon and Leupold would be my first choices. I'm a big fan of the Nikon Buckmark series -- well made, good optics, low price.

I run a Millett TRS-1 on my Savage 10FP. Works great. ~$250. 4-16x, 50mm objective, Very clear optics (not quite Leupold clear, but very clear), Side parallax, great adjustment turrets, illuminatable reticle. Also, it uses Mil dots for the reticle so you can start learning how to use them if you haven't yet. They are great.

Need to invest in a good set of rings and base though ($75-100). My rifle fell off a table from about 3 ft up onto dirt today (friggin wind). Still zeroed.

Otherwise, if you need something cheaper, we need to know the caliber you're running. Same goes for something lower mag for closer in shots.

                    Good luck!

I like Bushnell Banner scope on the low end great light gathering view for when its darker out. I like Nikons for the price, good scopes for the money but Leupolds are my favorites.
