Any suggestions on optics? I got it bare bones with a floating rail system and flip up sights.

congrats... I pick up my M&P 15 sport is 11 hours and 48min lol... No idea on optics right now though... I will probably just use the iron sights to get proficient with the gun first... I was looking at this for maybe in the future...has decent reviews... http://www.amazon.com/Vortex%C2%AE-S...I14YHSE0NZWSCS

I went with the Primary Arms 30mm Multi-Reticle. It has taken all the punishment that i've given it so far, and still held zero. The lens do have a blued color, but other than that it feels and looks for the most part like an Aimpoint M3. For 1/4 the cost of an aimpoint, I would definately get it. With that being said, for about 1.75 times the price, you can get the Vortex Strikefire which has gotten some excellent reviews in durability, but I hear the red dot is weak during the day. My Primary Arms is bright enough to have no worry about picking up my target during the bright daytime. Budget dictates! If I had the money to spare I would put an Eotech on mine. M&P-15 is a solid gun, mine has been 100% reliable so far.

Buy ammo and go shoot the hell out of it.

Maybe replace the stock for a nicer one. With the Sport model, the stock was my least favorite thing about it. It felt ****ty and wobbly. (Keep in mind that Im spoiled by an STR stock, so YMMV).

They're great little guns though. I like them.

I just bought magazines, ammo and a sling for my M&P15 which I love.

Now I've decided after shooting it some I'm going to order a LMT A2 rear sight. Next year either an Aimpoint T1 or a PRO.

buddy's got that on his rifle.

                    it's solid.

i kind of like it more than my PA 30mm simply because in never use any reticles other than the "dot" so the extra size is kind of wasted.
