Check with RifleGear, they carry them. COGunWorks has spare parts and accessories for the 551-A1 and 556. They use the proprietary mags so I don't know how easy it'd be tracking down rebuild kits for it. Plus blocking the mags that are around $35 or so, but hey, I pay for Mini14 mags so I'm not one to talk. Haha.Originally posted by shakes88I went to drop one duece and I come back to pedo-spiderman, dead cats and ***** ******* tattoos... I love this threadComment

I don't have a 551 but I do have a 556. I love the trigger and function of the gun its just DAAANNG heavy for a rifle. Not sure the weight difference between the 551 and 556 but the 556 feels great bench shooting.Comment

49er. They are nice, and Ca. legal with an AK type mag lock or featureless. Sig Sauer 551A1 is not on the list, Sig SG 551 is. It's both a different model, and a different company. (1 is swiss 1 is american).
Anyway, it's essentially the same as a 556 classic. Different finish on both receivers, different finish on the gas block, different flash hider. Of course it also uses swiss Sig/SAN mags. The QC and fit and finish has been great on the ones I've seen and handled.
Enjoy your new rifle. If you decide you want real swiss sights, cogunsales has them. Expensive though.Comment
