Just jailed a Surplus Arms & Ammo Lower....what do you think of this build?

Picked up a Surplus Ammo & Arms lower today at STS Guns in Folsom. They are made by Aero Precision.

    Was $122 OTD ($89 + tax/DROS).

    This is how it looks:

Now that it's in jail, I'm thinking about getting this 16" Dissipator (be back in stock soon)

    DTI 16" Dissipator Kit $469

    Prince 50 BB $19

Magpul FDE Rifle Length Handguard $38

I already have Magpul FDE MBUS sights, stock, grips, mags, etc.

So for $688 OTD I have a complete rifle.

Thoughts? Is DTI really that bad?

Any thoughts on the SAA lowers?

This will not be my go-to rifle for SD or SHTF, it's just a fun range gun.

Will the non-chrome lined be an issue? I plan on firing no more than 2000 rounds through this rifle per year.

    Thanks!

    Budget build, huh?

Well if you have to ask if they are "that bad" I wouldnt be happy with it even if it worked. lol

I would look into spikes tactical uppers. They are sold out but much better purchase.

lol well, i've heard some bad things about them and a lot of good things. The vast majority of the reviews on midwayusa are positive for this.

You also get some people with some really bad reviews on Glocks too.

So I take it all with a grain of salt.

F it then go for it...lo

Is there a reason you picked that? there are better options in the price range. Does it have to be dissy?

I already have a carbine length 16 inch. I also am just really attracted to the dissy style. I like this one mainly because it comes with the complete upper, lpk, and bcg for only 470.

Looks like a great deal. Not going to lie, for that price I'm tempted to pick that up as well and throw it on a spare lower. One of my favorite looks is a dissy with 12" quad rail.

Or you can wait for this to come back in stock. It's about $110 more but it's all Spikes, including the BCG and already comes with the MOE hand guard. Don't forget the DTI one requires shipping, which is maybe $20 more?

So for ~$50-60 more you can get a Spike's upper. However, no LPK..

I've got 2 of those lowers and one of them is currently mated to a DTI 16" middy upper and it works flawless. I'm also in the process of collecting parts to build a 16" Dissipator upper that will eventually be mated to the other SAA lower.
              That's my 2cents...

I have a Del-Ton and have had no problems with it. It's only a few months old but it does everything I need it to do and every one who has shot it really likes it. From my research there is a lot of negative stuff floating around by people who have never owned or even shot one. Most of the owners of Del-Ton's really like them. For the price you posted, you can't go wrong.

I have a Surplus Arms and Ammo lower with a DTI M4 length upper. I bought an Accu Wedge but didn't need it. It's a nice fit, no real wobble. The DTI barrel is 4140 chromoly instead of the mil spec 4150, but I don't even know what that means. The bolt is MPI too. Out the door I spent about $430 for the upper and $95 for the stripper lower. After six months I've spent more on ammo than I have on the gun, it's a shooter.
