RRA LAR-47 - Made CA legal?

Anyone familiar with this rifle? Not having any AK experience, can this rifle be made CA compliant?

Rock River Arms, Inc. offers a complete line of American made, custom built AR15 style rifles.

Looking at it, I'm guessing it would best to go featureless so you could use the stock mag release.

    Thanks.

Check the LAR47 thread HERE; old but covers most of the bases.

      Hmmmmm... interesting.

I think featureless is your best bet as that mag release looks very unique... but where there is a will, there is a way. Be interesting to contact them to see if they will be making a CA compliant version.

Otherwise, there is the SIG 556R - http://www.riflegear.com/p-1538-sig-...quad-rail.aspx

        Thanks, for posting.

So featureless is the only option on this one, no BB development.

Slightly off topic, but I don't understand why anybody'd want an non-AK 7.62x39.

Ergonomics. Especially when it comes to iron sights. I love the irons on my AR, though my crude AK sights are great, target acquisition is superior, for me personally, with my YHM irons or my Troy sights. Safety switch/lever is another component in the ergo department that could be improved. Having a bolt release is also a great function on the AR platform that could find a home on a modernized AK. A few other things too. Or not.

Honestly, I'd say look at the new Sig556R; it's addressed the shortcomings/issues of the first gen and doesn't have have the mag release inside the triggerguard like the LAR. Imagine a maglock inside the triggerguard. Not fun...

I would likely go featureless rather than messing with the mag release on the LAR. I had never heard of the Nitro. I'm going to look into that and the SIG.

Only odd thing with the LAR is that it uses DI and not a piston; not sure what to make of that and how the dirtier TulAmmo/Wolf/etc would effect that.
