    AR-15 Muzzle Options

    Hi all,

I've been looking for some muzzle accessories for my two 16" rifles. One has a Daniel Defense M4V2 URG with the standard barrel (optimized as a carbine) and the other has a DDM4V7 URG with the lightweight barrel (optimized as a DMR). Both are presently fitted with factory A2 flash suppressors.

I'm looking at the BattleComp 1.0 for the carbine:

And the Surefire MB556AR for the DMR:

Now, muzzle accessories are the rifle parts that I know the least about. First, would both fit the barrels I have? Second, would both work well in the intended roles?

    Thanks for any helpful inputs.

Bothe are very quality breaks that pretty much have similar functions. Both are compensators with some flash hiding capabilities. They are desiged to direct the outward gasses up and out so the forces keep your muzzle level reducing muzzle flip and felt recoil to allow for faster follow up shots on target.

As far as fit, if your barrels are threaded with the standard milspec 1/2"x28, both should fit.

Smith muzzle brake. The price is right and they work.

I'd reference Chaos47's chart/document for all things muzzle brake. Someone please link it.

That's a great document. Man, there are some ugly muzzle devices out there!
