K31 Scope

Hey everyone, I'm looking to mount a scope on my K31. I've got the Swiss products aluminum mount on the way and was looking for some advice.

I'll be shooting out to 500yds for now but would like to go up to 700 eventually. Price range... 300ish at the most? Any other details that would help but I'm forgetting?

I have a Nikon Bushmaster 4.5x14x40 bdc on my K31 and like it, but never shot more than 200 yds.
One bit of advice, the scope mount uses .22 rings. I first used Warne rings with the two screw cap, and the screws on both rings snapped on the right side in less than 20 rds.
I bought new rings from Brownells Model 701m.
These are made by Warne but sold with Brownell/Warne packaging, they have a 4 screw cap and I have had no problems with these.

Thanks for the tip on the rings, I probably would have gone and ordered the wrong ones... haha.

Use a scope with a 1" tube, and keep the objective lens as small as possible, since the larger objectives mean you have to have taller rings to clear the rear sight. Short is nice, too with that set up.

The scope in the previously posted photo is a very nice size for the K31. I have been using the Warne rings (like in the photo), but I was looking at these:

which may clear the ejection path even better and probably allow the use of the chargers (stripper clips).

Also, avoid anything hanging off of of the left side of the scope, like a side focus adjustment or illumination knob.
