    Which Brake is this? (AR15)

This brake came on an upper I bought- can anyone identify it?

It's a wicked looking little bugger. Threaded 1/2-28, .223 exit hole

    Thanks!

I'm curious to know how well it works against the Rainier XTC comp.

I have been wondering that my self, but I can only find a little information about the XTC and almost none regarding the RMC. Sadly I'm looking at purchasing one or the other, but haven't been able to make up my mind.

The XTC has a good word, and from what I have found people say they are great and on par with the XTC.

Judging from the pics of the two I would say they function much the same, giant fireballs from the sides with good compensating effect (based on XTC performance.)

            RMC vs XTC

Well if it is to go on a featureless rifle I take the stance that the XTC would be classified by CA DOJ as a Flash hider. Reason being they advertise it as having "relatively low muzzle flash" and also its design has tines/prongs.

RMC seems safe for a featureless

Though I dont disagree with playing it safe, I would be dumbfounded if the DOJ ruled the XTC a flash suppressor. It still has a sizable and noticeable flash. That being said, realistically it wouldn't surprise me if they did, just because it looks scary.

I have 2 of both, and love them both. I do like how the RMC has more of an 'aggressive' look to it, and isn't as long as the XTC.

Thanks guys! Now I'm excited to shoot this thing

I like the size and profile. I might have to pick up one or two more

The XTC reminds me of the PWS FSC somewhat.

PS- if you use military ammo, you really don't need a flash suppressor at all. A few years ago I fired my FAL with no muzzle attachment at a desert shoot at night. Using surplus ammo, the result was underwhelming.. I was expecting a huge fireball

If a comp has tines and or is named or advertised as reducing flash, chances are it will be ruled a supressor. Definite no-go for featureless...
Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...

have the PWS FSC556. Great look and great performance. Got mine for good price at vtsupply.com for $81. I was thinking about getting the rainier arms comp too but went with the PWS instead.

Damn it.. I saw the XTC on sale (factory second) for $35.. I had to buy one

This upper is on my Armalite RAW lower, so tines or no tines doesn't make much difference

I will put the XTC on my other RAW lower when it comes.
