Look at the bottom of your receiver and see if there are 2 notches in the cutout for the trigger. If there aren't you need the single hook.

you can mod the receiver to accept double hooks.

Is there any advantage to the double hooks. I can either dremel the receiver or mod the double hooks to a single.

These are AK triggers...not AR triggers. Is there really a 2 stage NM trigger for an AK? Unless you are talking about the Red Star Arms adjustable trigger (which is very nice as long as the set screws don't move on you).

The main reason I'm asking is when I ordered my tapco kits they came with the g2 double hook trigger but when I checked my DCI receiver it was for a single hook. I didn't want hassle with selling the FCG or trading it for a single hook. What do you think is better, mod the receiver or mod the trigger?

I have never compared those in double hook and single hook.

I tried one of the double hooks. I didn't like the why it fit. I think the problem was with my receiver/bolt however and not with the trigger. I sent it back thinking it was a problem with the trigger and got the RSA trigger. I had the same problem with the RSA trigger so I just ended up moding the trigger to make it work. The RSA trigger is a single hook. It has a much cleaner break than the Tapco but that isn't just because it is a single hook.

I plan to "adjust" the trigger and leave the receiver alone. If I screw up, I can order a new trigger and install it much more easily than ordering and reinstalling a new receiver.

I have shot both, and they feel the same to me. The single hook is supposed to be easier to bump fire, but the trigger pull feels just like the double. Both are nice and you will be happy with whichever you get.

Some say that a single hook trigger produces trigger slap, which I believe is when the recoil causes the trigger to bounce back forward and hit your finger. It is uncomfortable after prolonged firing sessions, I have read.

A double trigger hook cures this problem but as you know, not all receivers are cut to accomodate the double hook. You can Dremel or drill out an area to accomodate the double trigger hook, it is very easy and involves no skill.

This is just what I have read, you must decide for yourself and proceed at your own risk.

A single hook G2 should not have any trigger slap. The trigger slap happens when using the stock single hook trigger.
