    Kel Tec Sub 2000

I'm doing some research, and trying to figure out what is needed to make this gun CA legal. I know it's possible, as I've seen a FFL dealer selling them direct. Unluckly, I'm just getting hip to them, so of course, hard to find. If I find one, what is needed to make it CA Legal? I'm thinking bullet button, 1" ext., and 10 round mag. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance, and happy hunting.

From what I've read 1" butt pad, bb and 10 round mag just like you said, and that has to be done out of state and shipped to your ffl.

Or 1" butt pad extension and solar tactical grip so its no longer a pistol grip and do a feature less build...

When I got it from DDs Ranch (now long out of stock), they added a bullet button and 1" stock extension. I have since switched to Solar Tactical grip wrap instead of bullet button. Good luck!

Stock extension and grip wrap is all that's needed? That's too cool! Thank you again, and cross your fingers for me!

                What other butt pad/stock extension?

Anyone know where I can find a Kel-Tec stock extension? Kel-Tec's website has been out for a while. I've been calling once a week - no dice so far. Midway does not have any either.

Other than the Kel-Tec butt stock extension, any other brands that can be used that will still be CA legal.

Currently this place has them in stock, however I never bought from them personally:

When my friend had his transferred it had the stock extension and bullet-button installed. I suppose the Solar Tactical wrap-around is another alternative, the trick is finding one in California or someone willing to ship in the appropriate configuration.

They seem to be pretty rare, especially if you're going for a Glock 17 or 19 configuration.

Thanks for the info. Their shipping is a rip.

Good luck man. I'm sure you'll get bombarded soon by people who will want any SUB2K!

If only it was a 9mm I'd be all in and would pay a premium!

Buttstock extension to meet oal requirements

                            Bullet button OR grip wrap

When I received my KT-S2K the buttstock was "permanently" affixed with hot glue. It came off during normal handling. That's a felony right there so I drilled a couple of holes and PERMANENTLY affixed it with a couple of allen screws and acorn nuts with plastic lock inserts. It's not coming off without some effort.

Your worst nightmare is tossing it in the trunk after a range session and then getting pulled over - declaring to the cop "yeah I have a gun in the trunk" and then he opens the trunk and finds the extension has popped off during transit. Enjoy your stay at the Graybar Hotel. Seriously, take whatever steps are necessary to make that buttstock extension stay put!
