    Securing a BB build-

I have a BB build which I secure in its case with a cable lock through its action.

In order to accomplish this I must remove (with tool) the fixed magazine to accomodate the lock-

this SEEMS to be dicey in keeping with the letter of the law-

How do others secure the actions of their weapons?

would it be better to separate the upper and run the cable lock through the magwell on the lower only?

just tryin' to do the right thing here...

What you could do is pop the top and run the cable threw the tigger and around the lower. Or separate the upper and lower.

If you're talking about securing the rifle while stored in your home with children, then just secure the case itself. Most cases will have a zipper tab that can be padlocked to another zipper tab.

If you're talking about transport, you don't have to lock the rifle unless it's an Assault Weapon. In which case, I simply lock the zippers on the soft case.

        thanks-

I am thinking that separation is a good way to go... I dont like the idea of the rifle getting damaged with the action being open in the case...

I am interested in hearing how others are dealing with this...I prefer having the rifle secured by lock even though it is in a locked container-

        call me old fashioned...

I normally don't bother because it is not needed. If I do I usually just lock the case.

If you are adament about locking the rifle itself, then get an actual trigger lock and not a cable lock.

            Something like:

Master Lock is recognized around the world as the authentic, enduring name in locks, combination padlocks and security products. Learn more about our extensive assortment of security solutions.

This will allow you to keep the rifle assembled completely.

I've got a few from the CMP laying around the house somewhere since they let you redeem one lock per rifle ordered.
