    Which do you prefer?

Do you prefer milradian, minutes of angle, both, or other (specificy)--any reason for one measurement over the other?

    Just curious...

I prefer MOA because it's more precise and easier for me to wrap my head around (~1" per 100y), but almost everything is in MRADs. But it's hard to find binocs or spotting scopes with anything but mils (if it has anything at all), and almost all quick calculations are in mils.

Total agreement; MOA seems easier to pick up because you have the 1.047"/hundred yards. I learned on MOA, so it is natural to me. I started using MIL. It's harder to put it into tangible terms as you need to multiply by 3.6. It seems to work okay as long as the turrent adjustments match the reticle.

Also, second focal plane scopes make my skin crawl.

MOA. Much easier for me to understand. 1" @100 yards, 1/4" @25 yards etc. etc. etc.

The true meaning of MOA eluded me until I took a trig class. I'll stick with it till there's a class on mils.

Actually, once you get past middle school, I believe everything is in radian. That said, I do like my MOA.

Well, I never took a geometry class, which probably would have explained that minutes of angle are simply 1/60th of a degree.

college trig only briefly brushes on MOA, most everything is either in degrees or radian measure.

Then you start to look at a right triangle and all of a sudden there is no more mystery behind it.

i lol'd and true. i like my mil/mil a lot, but really, you will likely get used to either pretty well, just make sure the reticle and knobs are matched up

Never really learned the MRAD system. I'm cool with MOA.
