It's a Ruger M77 in 30-06. With scope the rifle weighs 9lbs.
Currently I have an old slip on recoil reducer which helps. I will continue to work on my hold, grip, etc... The recoil isn't horrible, but my biggest issue is my cheek weld. When the rifle kicks, it pulls on my cheek skin.
So I have two thoughts, and would like you to weigh in on them, and add what you did with your rifle to ease felt recoil.
1. Are the slip on reducers as affective as the kind you grind to fit and screw in?
2. Would a cheek piece of leather or neoprene help the cheek weld issues and make shooting a little more pleasant?
