    cal legal kel-tec 2000

Hey im curious to know if any of you have seen shot or herd of a cal legal kel tec 2000.

My use for this would be a shtf rifle for my mom. Shes 53 and not very strong. She can barley pick up my shotgun, and this 4lb 9mm would be great if she had to watch my back in a situation were we had no choice but to fight.

Im not dead set on this gun but the weight and fact rhat it shoots 9mm is great. So if you guys have any other suggestions id be happy to hear them

It can be made legal with a bullet button and a stock extension. Because these things have to be added after it leaves kel tec it makes it a pia for gun dealers to do. This is why they more expensive and harder to find in California. I too am looking for a sub2000 9mm that takes glock 17 magazines but if I find a ruger pc9 I will buy that instead. Btw rifle gear has a waiting list for the kel tec sub 2000.

I've got one a while ago. 9mm Beretta version from DD's Ranch. It does have bullet button and stock extension. Currently working on getting a grip wrap from Solar Tactical. Cocking it might be a little bit of an issue because it has a small handle and a lot of spring behind it. Maybe a nice 10/22 might be better?

Ive considered a .22lr for her but since she would be defending her life and her shot placement wouldnt be that great(i will definitleytrain her) id want more stopping power but who knows what the future holds

I had mine shipped to Riflegear around a year and a half ago. Bullet button and stock extension were installed by the buyer. No problems. Really fun to shoot.

The Hi Point 995TS is inexpensive, light (~6lbs), reliable and common as dirt in So Cal. They go on sale at Turners for $330 every other month or so.

Otherwise, conventional wisdom suggests something like a 38 special revolver.

It can be made featureless with a grip wrap and stock extension also, but I don't know of any middleman FFLs who do that.

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I had Henderson defense be the middle man for mine and went featureless with a solar tactical grip and the stock extension. I had to be patient and shop around because I didn't want to pay the extra 80-100 for a bb version Soooo I got my s&w version for $289. I wanted the Beretta version.

A little hint, as long as you don't want the glock version you can easily switch between Sig, Beretta and s&w by simply ordering different mag catch from kel-tec. I got mine for $1.67
