    Actually there are no "SKS" type rifles produced anywhere which the manufacturing country placed the markings "SKS" on them. Some IMPORTERS placed that markings on many different SKS rifles to comply with the importation rules from 1986.

      yea amen brother if its an sks it doesnt have to say sks on it but if its marked something like model 59/66 then it is not an sks

      but this really only matters for the use of detachable magazines

        ok, mine was made in 1967 from the jianshe arsenal, and was stamped sks when it was imported through pomona. From what i am reading and understanding, I should not have any legal issues with this gun with its fixed 10rd mag and bayonet.
