    Total Bummer

I just got back from driving 60 miles out, to my OLL friendly FFL. I've waited the BS 10 days after filling out the DROS form and was jacked about bringing home the final piece of my puzzle, the lower receiver.

Lo and behold, my form was somehow misplaced(the book keeper apparently picked it up by accident), my info was never entered into the DOJ database, and the 10 day countdown was never even started!

I re-filled out the DROS form and waited for the info to be entered into the DOJ database before driving home in a funk. It was a long 60 miles home!

The FFL knew I was seriously disappointed and apologized endlessly. She offered to waive all fees, which is some consolation. But I was really excited about assembling my new toy this week! Dammit man!!! Now I've got to start marking X's on the calender again .

    I'm done venting now...
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

Wow. That's terrible. That's just as bad as when I went to go start a DRoS and the guy before me had waited too long to go pick up his handgun and had to start the whole process again.

Oh I know that feeling. I bought a 1911 and I was then deployed....by the time I got back the gun was gone, and I was only allowed 75% of my money as store credit.

I had a similar thing happen to a friend of mine with a FAL. The DROS wasn't done on time and unfortunately when he went to pick it up, he found out their FFL was to be gone in about 4 days, so no time to re - DROS. An FFL from another dealer was immediately faxed for a transfer, but to ensure no paperwork problems and that the thing actually went out the door, they handed the boxed FAL to him and said "drive straight to your FFL". Which he did.

Gee, wonder why they were losing their license.

                  I don't feel so bad now .

I believe this was an honest mistake and since I made sure that the DROS info was entered this time around, I'm confidant that I'll have my receiver in 10 days. I did get a good look at it today and what a beautiful thing it is!
