    Rem 700 VTR

So I'm a newbie here and a newbie to long shooting. I have a Remington 700 VTR A-TACS I haven't shot yet cuz I'm waiting for my(back-ordered) SS 16X42MQ scope. Meanwhile, I'm picking up all the extras which brings me to my question: the rifle has two front swivel studs and I've tried to mount two different bipods and neither one will fit becuase when I go to tighten it down it hits the rear swivel-jarring it up. Before I go torquing on my beautiful rifle i was wondering if those swivel studs are threaded so they can be taken out???

I'll post some pics after I mount my scope.

What type of bipod are you using? You should be able to unscrew them out.

Not sure why it would hit. But I would remove one. It should not hurt anything by unscrewing one off. If you need to run a sling there should be a point on the Bipod where you can attach a sling swivel.
