    10 mm AR?

Anyone here seen a 10 mm AR? Will a 10 mm upper work with a standard stripped lower?

    thanks,

I've seen, and wanted to build, both a 10mm and a .357Sig AR builds. It may have been on arfs pistol caliber forum. As I understand it, both the 10mm and .357Sig rounds are too high pressure for straight blow back so they require a tweaked gas system to work and a proprietary magazine. The complete lower, the upper itself, and the furniture are all standard but the magazine, magazine block, barrel, bolt and possibly carrier are all custom. For someone in California, I hope you have the money or the skill.

Personally, if it were me, I'd spend the same amount of money but less time and get an HK clone in 10mm. It's already designed and mass produced, finding one if the hardest part, but I know Cohaire has some right now, though they are always limited runs when they are made by any company.

        I own the Oly arms 10mm, 40S&W, 45ACP and 9mm uppers.
They work perfectly and I am adicted to say the least.

If you buy them direct from Oly they will come with a modified magazine that fits the standard mag well of the stock AR15 type rifle. The magazine has a metal block welded to the back of the magazine so that it will use the stock AR mag release. I don't know what they are using now but the 9mm and 40 mags that I have were modified STEN mags while the 10mm and 45ACP used modified Cobray mags. I can tell you that the mags for the 45 and 10mm were going for $75+ each when/if you can find them. This has lead to a cotage industry in modified mags and alternative custom receivers that take alternative mags (grease gun or tommy gun mags). The mags are the only short comming fo the system due to their lack of availability.
