AR front sight post & grip questions

i have been shooting iron sights more recently. i'm not sure what diameter the sight post is on my front sight (it came with my troy folding sight) but i would like to go to a slightly finer (thinner) post for 100 yard shooting. the one now is as wide as a 6" target at 50 yards.
was thinking of getting a set of them from CTD but i really just want one. has anyone tried those sights with the round ball tip?

also considering a different back up iron sight. are there folding back up iron sights that have an elevation adjustment?

also looking at a getting a new grip, one i can stash a few tools in. i saw theres a tool kit for standard grip but doesent have any allen wrenches or flathead screwdriver which i would like to carry. is there a grip plug you can get for the standard grip to make it a storage area?

    thanks

I run LMT fixed irons, before I got my tijicon upgrade I had the KNS medium ball FSP and I didn't like it, when I focused on the target the ball would blur. Maybe combined with a smaller rear aperture it would be better.

I think there are a few rear sights that fold down and also have elevation.
Google : rear back up sight with elevation. The one I've seen the most of, is the Knights
    Flip up.

What kind of distance and zero are you running?
Once zero'd correctly, you won't need to touch the elevation unless the target
Is more than 300yards away. And you have to use a 25m zero for the math to work.

I opted for the flat as a pancake 50yd zero.

As far as the grip is concerned, just upgrade the the grip entirely .
Magpul is nice, Troy, ergo, all are better IMO for tons of reasons.

The sights you linked to are just gimmicks. Dont waste time with them.

Most folks need a front that is quite a bit thinner than the stock A2 square post.
The best for target work is a .050" +- round post. No matter how much wind you put on the rear you will still see the same size front. Not so with the so-called "NM" tapered blade fronts. Plus, with a round front and a jamb screw instead of the front sight detent, you will have infinite 36 TPI adjustability for elevation zero instead of the 1/4 turn adjustments on the stock A2, and one complete turn adjustment on the tapered blade type.

This is assuming your rifle is somewhat close to A2 configuration. If you are kicking in doors with an M4 you dont need any sights at all.
