Tell me about it...7 are currently in the safe, 8th is a para that lives in the suburban. 9th is with my saddlemaker...trying to design a scabbard (mag less) for horseback. They've taken elk, deer, and antelope...not ideal for coyote, but workable if it's all you have

          Your fun is just beginning.

Just have the two, but it's a happy pair. Have a parts kit I keep for spares. If I bought another receiver, it would get built and then I'd have to buy another parts kit for spares....

I found a swinging deal on a DSA receiver and by happenstance as I was doing to paperwork at Bright Spot Pawn in Riverside today (great people there) I was shown another identical type II at a decent enough price that I threw down and did the deed for that one too.

YOU GUYS ARE A REALLY BAD INFLUENCE AND MY WIFE IS FURIOUS WITH YOU ALL!
You did the right thing by going with DSA. Also, take your wife shooting when you are done building the rifles. She'll calm down when she has so much fun and begin wondering why you didn't build a FAL sooner. Then let her have the second rifle, to keep peace in the family.

Haven't been able to get a rifle to her shoulder.
She's about tall enough that Tiny Tim could kick her tail but she is quite handy with a Barong.
                Scary handy.

                She'll calm down

                You speak blasphemy Sir!
Haven't you ever heard the old saying about my wife, yes.
My dog maybe but my guns never!

Actually I'm thinking of building her an AR like the pink one someone just did on here.
                She liked that.

I have been thinking of buying a FAL reciever for a build. I have no knowledge or experience with them at all. I have read of both metric and inch pattern recievers. Which one shoulod I be looking to buy?
Are more or better parts availeable for one versus the other?

Metric parts are easier to get. This is a place to educate yourself.

I built two Entreprise receivers a few years back. A type 1 with Imbel parts and a Type 3 with G1 parts. No real issues with each. Had to shave both barrels in the lathe to time correctly and the locking lug on the Type 1 was a little oversize to begin with so a little shaving there was needed to get the lower to lock up but it's better to have it tight than too loose IMO. No other issues to mention.
