Alright, I'm new to this, sorry if this has been done before or if i'm in the wrong forum (don't think i am though). Anyways, for the past 3 months I have been planning to build a California legal AR-15. I have all the parts ready minus the mags, and stripped lower. I went into a local gun store to purchase the lower and i couldn't because of my age. (i completely forgot about the "possible" pistol configuration and felt embarrassed to say the least) since i'm not 21 yet, i just had to let it go.
Okay, so this is where my question comes in. I was wondering since i couldn't purchase it, because of the age situation, hypothetically speaking of course, if a friend/family member who is within the legal age, decided to purchase a lower receiver, build it into a rifle, then sell it to me as a rifle (which i can legally purchase rifles); is that considered illegal. Remember this is just a hypothetical question.
Any help with this hypothetical will be much appreciated.
