    Buying AK OLL

Hows it going guys, I'm a FNG to the whole OLL thing but have been around firearms all my life and have hunted all my life, I got a question for you guys :

I was at a gun show a few weeks ago and there were a couple fellas there selling Ewbanks AKM model receivers and they were not ffl dealers. Can you still buy a receiver face to face w/o having to deal w/ the whole transfer fee's since its considered a long gun if its an OLL thats not on the ban list ?

NO. Long guns must be 50 years or older to be transfered F2F w/o going thru an FFL.
I hate people that are full of hate.

It's not illegal to tip for PPT!

      DON'T DO IT!

Bottom line, you need to either have your FFL01 to sell those or if a private party has one for sale you need to transfer it through an FFL. Unless it's a C&R.

Yes, alot of the AK variants are legal to posess in CA but they have to be off list and/ or meet other criteria.

      Read the FAQ here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=56818

      Welcome aboard!

Ok thanks guys, So even if one is a complete full Rifle thats CA Legal w/ all the compliance parts it would still need to be 50years or older to do a FTF otherwise its has to go through an FFL?

Yepp 50years or older to do a face to face w/o a FFL basically its gotta be a C&R, otherwise its gotta be transfered through someone w/ an FFL

Name the "gun show" you saw non-ffl guys selling Aks? All new guns have to go through an FFl and the buyer must pass a background check...in CA all non C&R guns.

I have no idea what Ca gun show laws are, but I think CA banned sales at gun shows. any one can display guns but the sale must take place at a store outside of the fair grounds...I dont even think cash can be exchanged....

I dont know though....havent looked up those laws yet.

He did not mention rifles, he mentioned receivers.

sorry guys I meant the flats, he also had ewbanks bent receivers also... My mistake, and No I'm not the boogey man lol, I thought for a second he was selling those aswell and you didn't need to dros it but now that I remember he was talking about the flats... Any how if someone wanted to get a few flats bent, is there a procedure in getting those registered just incase another ban were to arrive (knock on wood)

The next FED ban that comes around probably won't allow you to keep the prohibited items ("Mr.and Mrs. America, turn them in") and the biggest plus to building from a flat is the lack of a papertrail, registration would only lead to confiscation.
