Need Education on Chip McCormick Triggers

Ok, I use two different suppliers. Both provide Chip McCormick triggers.

One sells what they call a 2-Stage trigger. But they are almost always out of stock.

My other supplier sells what they call Short Pull and Long Pull triggers but do not say if they are Single Stage or 2-Stage.

I went to Chip's website, and they also call them Short Pull and Long Pull with no referrence as to what "stage" they are.

So...do any of you experts out there know if either of the Short Pull or Long Pull is actually the same thing as 2-Stage or are they both single pull?

Does any of this make sense to you guys?

I think chip is just using different termanology that the rest of the world. Either that, or he change his policy and is now only offering Single Stage triggers but 2 different versions. Basically, Chip is confusing the heck out of me.

Please don't tell me to ask supplier number one for their item number, I tried that already. They have their own coding system.

    Thanks!

Never heard of the "long pull" and "short pull." I do know that the two stage trigger has not been available for more than a year now, the rumour was that CMC needed to redesign something on it. So as far as I know, you can only buy single stage at this time.
    Hope that helps.

From the Chip McCormick triggers I've been around I'd buy something else. The Chips I've tried have all been mushy and gritty. A RRA is better, Accuracy Speaks, JP or others.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

I sell RRA and JP. But Chip McCormick is also available. I am just trying to make sense of their product descriptions. People want them, so I sell them. I just want to know some more about the product I am selling so I can answer questions correctly.

I use the single-stage chip mccormick trigger and I love it. Not sure what randy means by mushy and gritty but my trigger and trigger pull feels solid. I've actually tried the two-stage RRA and actually prefer the single-stage chippie.

I just put in 2 CMC single stage units in my wife's gun and my gun. . . they work very well. . . crisp 3.5 lb. triggers. . . less than 10 minutes to install. Simple.

I hear the JP is more tuneable. It came down to cost for me. I wanted everything in the fire control group to be tool steel, and the CMC cost less if you figure in JP's hammer and anti-walk pins (Which are included w/ CMC). Plus, I wanted parts to be interchangeable between rifles if need be. The JP needs to be tuned to the receiver it's sitting in.
