Here they are, bushy 10/20 Mags w/ Magpul followers

Ok so I decided to give it a try since I have extra mags.

In this thread it is explanied how to take apart the mag - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=78877

If you just install the Magpul follower without modification (to the base plate/follower or the follower only) it will only hold 5 rounds.

If you modify like below, it will hold 10 rounds exactly. No more. I measured how far the original follower goes down and then after the modding and it's exactly the same. Perfect.

You can mod the base plate and follower as I did, and it will retain the 4-way anti tilt design of the Magpul follower. Doing it this way Once you mod the base plate, you can't go back to stock. Well you can if your crafty with plastic welding or duramix.

Or you can mod the follower as described in the other thread above, but will ruin the design of the follower. This way it can always be put back to stock.

I chose to mod the base plate and follower. The pics should explain the mods. I retained some edge where the spring sits to keep it in place. Rounded all cut edges a little. And filed the bottom legs of the follower at an agle (without doing this it gets caught up on the base plate and won't seat onto it.

    Enjoy.

    * It is illegal to Mod these mags to accept more than 10 rounds. DO NOT DO IT.

    Nice work.

I still say the Promag 10/20 with magpul upgrade is the best mag I have used.

      I did exactly that. :-)

And after that, I put the mag back together, and fill the bottom hole with eproxy.

Yeah I have 1 promag 10/20. I do like that one too. I am going to buy more of those. It's nice to have some of each.

Yeah I have duramix 4040 to fill the bottom hole.

I think I'll be doing this to a few more of mine.

Becuz, after you mod the base, if you put in a regular follower, the magazine will hold MORE than 10 rounds.

So, to be safe, after you are satisfied with your "mod", you should FIX/PERM your magazine w/ the Magpul follower.

Yeah I filled in the base with duramix 4040. It's a plastic weld. I used it in making the custom grip for my ar. it's VERY STRONG.

Where can you get some of these Promag 10/20 with magpul upgrade?

Riflegear.com had some regular ones. I though he also sold modded ones but can't seem to find them on his site. I know someone on here modded them and sold them. that was the only person I know of that did. Ten Percent also sold them.

After I modded and sold about 150 of those I decided I just didn't have time to make those anymore. I am still selling the stock Promag 10/20 and there is a thread here somewhere that describes how to mod the Magpul follower if you would like to try the mod yourself. Doing it for a few magazines is not that much work, but try doing it for 25, 50, 100 at a time and you will soon realize why I don't want to bother with them anymore

Yeah I did the one I have. It was A LOT easier than the this bushy mag mod. You have good pricing on the promags. I'll have to pick up a dozen when I get some extra cash.
