    Big 5 Russian M44 - $75 ... is is worth it?

Just curious on what your guy's thoughts are on this rifle, for $75 I may just go pick one up today! Are there things that I should look for on these rifles to make sure I get one in good working order? Thanks!

It's worth $75 if you like old guns that are fun to shoot. Ammo is reasonably priced if you shop around for the surplus stuff. Things to look for are a decent barrel that doesn't have too many pits and rust. Serial numbers that match are a plus but not necessary to have fun shooting with it.

Then, Sir, we will give them the bayonet! (Stonewall Jackson's reply to Colonel B.E. Bee when he reported that the enemy were beating them back. At the first battle of Bull Run, July 1861)

Yeah same thread. I have two. I want another, but I can't justify having too many. They need a lot of clean up and there are detailed instructions on how to take them apart and put them back together all over the internet on these rifles.

They are a lot of fun. Heck of a kick. They are all arsenal refurbished and shoot. Try to let them "pick through" the ones they have and you may find some are in better shape than others.

But you can't beat the deal.

If you like old guns that are fun to shoot - get a C&R license. They are $30 for 3 years and pay for themselves the first time you order a rifle w/o DROS. You also get dealer prices at a lot of vendors, like Midway, Brownells, Century, etc.
I hate people that are full of hate.

It's not illegal to tip for PPT!
