Yesssss. For a detachable mag target rifle, that would be cool. It would be perfect to have a nice walnut set(with matching walnut handguards) for a target rifle and a synthetic set for a carbine.

I would've have bought a U15 already if it was more eye pleasing. I know it was built with comfort in mind but I can't seem to like the way it looks.

The ergonomics and ability to use full capacity magazines far outweighs any visual defect in my opinion.

I have much more control over the rifle than when using the monster man grip and I can use my 30 round mags. The U15 is fantastic.

You should handle one before you write it off due to perceived odd appearance.

              Magpul U-15
              Now that's cool.

That is very good looking for a U-15 styled rear. I've never like the looks of the U-15 but this one is just .

Actually the comfort was a huge bonus. I designed the U-15 simply to function because I wanted to own an AR in CA. There was no such thing as an OLL when I came up with my initial design. My plan was to have AR receivers machined with the U-15 bracket as one solid unit so it wouldn't be an AR clone (Series), thus legal. I would have had to find a manufacturer but the U-15 rifle would have been awesome because it could use any AR-15 upper, parts and accessories.

But then that Ben Cannon guy wrote a couple of letters and....yeah.

However, I realized I could use the bracket I made and just sell the stocks. There was no bullet button or Prince50. The first mag lock was just coming to be. I had designed a stock that would allow any OLL to be built up completely functional.

I know the rifle looks crazy. Some of my own friends still won't use my stock because they don't like how it looks. All I can do is shrug and move on. Most people who shoulder a complete U-15 rifle are amazed by the comfort and quickly hate the look a little less. It really grows on you. Some people also begin to like the look when the realize exactly why it looks the way it does, and appreciate the design.

I do wish more people would try my stock out before they start with the ungly comments. But to each their own. I own and shoot lots of guns. I'm happy

The Magpul U-15 looks cool. It wouldn't be comfortable with the grip in that shape, but I like the design. I'll talk to them this weekend, maybe I'll even give them a stock to play with. They are wicked designers.

I have to agree that the U-15 didn't look so good to me when I first saw it. But the more I saw pics of it, it started to look ok. I still haven't seen one in person to hold. I'm really interested in how it feels on the rifle. A synthetic "taticool" version would be cool.

The question im wondering, is a telescoping grip illegal? lol. It would be cool to have it telescope, maybe have the top part rounded and hollow to accept the buffer tube going into it an inch or two but not attaching so it still remains a rifle style grip.

Its more of a CONCEPT than a prototype. No, not on the market, it has never been made outside of Photoshop, at least at this point. But just wait, 2 WEEKS!

Don't take me wrong, I've handled it and completely love the way it feels. It's very comfortable indeed and the comment was not made to put the product down in any way. I just don't like the roundness of it. it's a great product and every time I go to the gun show I handle it and go back to handle it some more. It's just me not the stock. by any means, every one should handle one and feel how comfortable it really is. I hope my comment doesn't reflect on the fact that the advantages of using detachable magazines far out weighs the way I look at it.

My apologies if the comment wasn't explained correctly.

                            Toolbox,

FWIW, I love my rifle more now than when I first built it. I've tried, fixed mag but loading was just crazy. Besides, shooting 10 rounds was just too fast for me.

Tried to go gripless instead so I can use detachable mags, but tha didn't do anything but give me finger cramps

U15 was the best suited for me since now I can shoot my rifle just like my M1A.

But let us know as soon as you get a response from Magpul.

I'm very happy with my Stag rifle with the U-15 Stock. At some point in the future I'm planning to switch to a monsterman on the stag and build an SPR-Type rifle on a CMMG lower with the U15.

Until then, I tried the MMG and the U15, and at least to me I like the U15.

Diablo, no need to apologize. I took no offense. I'm glad so many people here in CA like my stock, and I'm also glad there are so many people who don't like the look of my stock but still appreciate what it does. I'm just a shooter, trying to make things a little better for me and the other shooters living in this great state.
