You mean you can't get the brass weight on the end to drop down the barrel? It just... falls through. Not much to it at all. Maybe shake the barrel up and down a little to help jiggle it down if it's stuck on some crud. It shouldn't really get jammed to the point where it won't go through at all since it's smaller than the bore.Comment

Well if you use something really viscous like frog lube the brass weight can get stuck in the lubeComment

I had that problem with the snake I bought for my AR, the problem was the way the snake was sown where it meets the brass weight, had to chuck it as it didn't work with any AR i tried and waited too long to return it as I didn't use it for a while.Comment

I've had similar issues with my .22/.223 bore snake.
I've found that if you remove the upper (AR), feed the weight into the barrel as far as it will go, then point the barrel at the ground & lightly tap it on a firm but non-marring surface while feeding slack into the chamber, it feeds through easily.
Hope this helps.

Its either the wrong size, which is doubtful if you have ever successfully pulled it through once, or the line is twisted up. Make sure the black line connected to the brass piece is untwisted and not kinked up.
If you have a file try rounding the front end of the brass piece to give it more of a bullet shape. this will make feeding down the barrel easier. Sometimes it can get hung up in the chamber if you have a steep shoulder cartridge.
I keep a rolled up Boresnake in the grip trapdoor of my AR's and AK. I almost never use them but its nice knowing I have a way to clean my bore anywhere, anytime. I have invested in a few nice Dewey rods and bore-guides for cleaning at home.Comment

This does happen, especially if you throw some Froglube down the barrel before the bore snake. I've just got in the habit of lining the bore snake with Froglube then putting it down the barrel.NRA, CGF, GSSF, SAF member
