    HELP!! AR trigger/disco not release

Just got a CMMP LPK trying to install.

Already modded the trigger by cutting off the "tail"... so I cant take it back.

The trigger/hammer/disco just went in. But it seems like the geometry of the disco or hammer is wrong.

If the hammer goes back all the way, the disco engages, and WONT LET GO.

I have to press down the back of the disco to collapse the spring and swing the disco out of the hook - to get the trigger/sear engagement for a 'normal firing position.

Planning on grinding the disco hook to move it back for correct engagement.

    Good idea/bad idea?

Note I do not have - and have never used casinite so I'm not up to "re hardening" the part.

    Thanks

    HMMMM...........

Looking with the pins and parts on the side of the reciever, A blob of JB weld on the front bottom edge of the disco would tilt the disco back enough to work properly.

    Probably a better solution.

    Comments?

    Thanks

Just checked parts against another AR. Its the hammer itself thats out of spec. the hook is too long.

      Wait...

So did you make sure the trigger group worked before you started cutting it up?

OP, Is the trigger making contact with the lower receiver (trigger opening) such that it cannot reset all the way back?

          Merc,

Heck no man.... Jump on in with both feet.... Yeah.... not the smartest thing....

          HK,

The trigger seems to have full movement.

I'm new to AR's. I bought 2 lowers, I put together one LPK from a different brand, everything went together great.

Found the '15 minute' trigger job and after a LOT OF research, I cut one leg of the hammer spring, cut the tail off the hammer, and bent the legs of the trigger spring, used the set screw to remove the creep. Everything went fantastic and the trigger is nice!

Bought the different parts kit today, and went to install it the same way.

Cut the hammer tail before I even started, and polished the trigger/sear.

Install the parts and before installing the set screw to take up the creep, the hammer wont let go of the disco. So, currently the trigger has full travel.

2 different brands of LPKs. All parts look same except now I see the hammer hook for the disco is too long. Swap hammers from the other lower, everything is ok.
