    40-Round Russian Bakelite Mag

    Just got this magazine earlier today - It's a semi-rare Izmash Bakelite mag in 7.62 X 39

      Thank You.

Speaking of Khyber, in the near future I will be building a Khyber platform from a Flat on an AMD65 fitted with a Triangle Sidefolder. The Bakelite mag will live there.

The Triangle Stock in the first pic above is actually a Polymer Fixed stock from RPB Industries - I spray-painted it with Rust-Oleum Metallic Engine Enamel to attempt a Metal-Like finish.

It almost looks real from 30 - 40 feet away, if you squint real hard...

It's temporary on my MAK 90 and the Wood furniture will be going back on soon.

Reason I got the RPB version in the first place is that I wanted to see what it was like to live with a Triangle stock; this before I spend the money to buy a real one for the AMD / Khyber project. The RPB was only $35.

While I like the magazine very much, I love the MG42 grip
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"

Yes, that MG42 grip is a good one.

Much better ergonomics than any of the OEM derivatives and Aftermarket grips which I have tried on this AKM over the past two decades.

FYI - I got all the parts for the Grip retrofit from RTG -

How sturdy is the RPB? I love the look and have been tempted to buy one, but im a bit concerned given the price being so cheap

The RPB is very sturdy ( I'm guessing that it's made of Delrin or a similar polymer ), and it's fairly light. Original color is Black, and the exterior surface plastic has a Very subtle "grainy" finish

The Stock-to-Receiver fit is as good as it gets. I'm running mine without set screws, with not even a hint of loose fit - It will probably be a real PITA to remove, though..

I could see easily this Triangle Stock being a permanent modification for someone, unless you just "have to have" a genuine Side-Folder..

BTW, In addition to their their Triangle Stock being inexpensive, the RPB people are also a top notch service outfit - They communicated with me twice: I received an E-Mail within an hour to confirm they got my order; and then again early the next day, to advise that it had shipped; along with providing me a tracking number. This all without any prompting on my side, other than my initial order..

I got my well packaged Triangle stock in my hands only 3 days after I ordered it online. That's Outstanding service

This one is for Chinese receivers ( model C1 ). Their Euro-platform AK version is the "E1" model.

In my experience, this Polymer, Non-Folding Triangle Stock is one of the best "Bang for the Buck" aftermarket products I have ever purchased for this Rifle, and I recommend it without any hesitation.

BTW, I have no connection to RPB Industries other than as a very satisfied customer.

Yeah, I'm not liking it either. It sets up my optics too high ( as in: "Chin-weld" high ).

I will try next a Midwest Industries Mini Red Dot Optics base:
