Troy Bravo Standard Battle Rail 11"

Hey guys, I just ordered this hand guard STRX-BR1-11BT-00 and it did not come with a barrel nut or the barrel wrench that Troy sells. I understand that this free float rail is compatible with the existing barrel nut. What is so different about that Troy barrel nut compared to the basic barrel nut. And do you think I should specifically purchase the Troy barrel nut in this case ? Link to Troy TRX barrel nut

if I'm correct, the nut you linked will not work on the rail you linked.

The nut is for non-Alpha TRX rails. Troy has since moved to a new clamping design for the rails that uses standard nuts.

Oh really? well the Hand Guard came with 4 small hex screws and 4 small metal pieces that you hold inside the rail while you start the screw through it.

I understand how this method works to hold down the rail, I was just wondering if that Troy barrel nut would have any extra benefit over the standard barrel nut. Looks like maybe it would work better with a standard barrel nut.

if you read the description on the bottom of the nut's page, it says not compatible with Alpha rails. Alpha type rails uses the 4 screws you mention.

I don't believe Troy makes an enhanced standard nut, they make the TRX nut.

Yes, I understand but the rail I am linking to is not an Alpha Rail. It is a Standard TRX Bravo Battle rail.

I am starting to think there were two version of this rail. At one point in the pas there was the Standard Battle Rail similar to the one I linked above that had a mounting system as seen here, in which you must use the Troy Barrel nut and tighten two screws on the rail to secure it to the upper. It seems like the Bravo version is a newer version that uses the new type of clamping system mine has come with.

Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Did the 13" troy trx battlerail have two clamp style screws on the bottom?
