    Precision Upper Recommendations

I'd like to build precision upper and I'm not quite sure where to start so I'm hoping to shed some light on this project.

I'd like to get a 20" barrel, something heavy to handle heat, but not a full solid barrel. I plan on scoping the upper with a 6x20 Hawke and I will be matching it with my precision lower with a match trigger.

Any suggestions on the barrel and bcg? If you have any experiences with precision AR uppers please chime in!

+1 Weighs as much as a 16 inch heavy barrel. Assuming you are after a 223cal.
                ,
and our leaders allow themselves to be spoon fed with foreign BS and have forgotten that the great majority of americans do not live in secluded gated comunities with private security 24/7 like they do, while the rest of us are subject to defending ourselves without Police escorts whenever we need it. they dont realize we are subject to different dangers than they are, and we must have and keep the right do defend ourselves!

Whoops forgot that--yes 556. I noticed the JP stuff is only 223. I'd like to shoot the hotter 556 loads occasionally.

Budget is undecided at this point as I'm trying to figure out my options...

Shilen select barrels and great service. If it's accuracy you are after then this is your gun.

Mine is chambered in 204 ruger but you can get what you want in any twist

http://www.specializeddynamics.com/ High quality upper for a great price. Friend is shooting in the .5's. Give Scott a call and talk to him. Great customer service and a great guy to talk to.

My JP CT - 02 shootS 556 just fine. It's available as an upper or complete rifle. Look into scr11 upper. side charging upper so you don't lose your site picture when you charge the rifle. The great thing about a JP rifle is that it has very little recoil. I would say it's a little more than a 22lr kick. It's just tuned nicely out the box. I can take my rifle and rapid fire at at 200 yard silhouettes and hit every time. Also had it hitting out to 600 yards. Have not had a chance to stretch it past that. Your looking at $1200 and up for a JP upper. GL and let us know what you decide.

                          SCR - 11

Rock River and White Oak both make some really nice stuff. I have a Rock River service rifle upper that I have been happy with. Have friends with White Oak guns; they're good as well.

Hands down; White Oak Armament. Well-built, excellent-shooting Uppers favored by the Service Rifle competitors.

Like this but with with a 20" barrel - only $595. Just add glass.

Or a 20" barrel for $275. Can get with gas tube and matched bolt.

With a Wylde chambering you can shoot either 5.56 or .223. You can order "off menu" and get any twist you want and request a Kreiger barrel. (they normally use Wilson match blanks chambered by Compass Lake Engineering)
