    Vltor CASV-14

Just got my Vltor CASV-14 installed on my socom 16. Just wanted to share. Still looking for the right scope so I can use the lower profile rings.

Everything fits nice, except the rear dovetail mount. It actually had to be pressed in.

Thats looks nice, how much extra heft did that add ? i have been looking at scope mounts , but the steel ones weigh around 10-11 ozs. i have a socom 16 also, whats the weight on your rifle ?

          Looks great!
You gotta make sure the stripper clips guide part is lined up first -- don't tighten all the other bolts screws -- get them all started, then a little on each, keep looking at the rail from above and make sure it's not pulling left or right in the middle.

Look for a scope with a max 40 mm objective bell or the rings will get too high for a traditional stock. I'm even thinking of a 1-4x Leupold scout scope.

          And enjoy it

The first one I put on took forever and nothing seemed to fit. Ive done three more since then and they've all gone on like a charm, once I realized -- line up -- then tighten --
